Operator Info
Heating with Oxy/Acetylene has limitations and hazards. 
Care must be taken to ensure that the maximum draw-off consumption rate of acetylene is not exceeded (consult your gas supplier for details). 
For this reason, Acetylene tips are available only up to size 2.
Where possible, we recommend that Oxy/LPG be used in preference to Oxy/Acetylene. 
LPG is safer and less prone to flashback or backfire, and larger tip sizes are available for heavy heating. 
LPG is also often only a fraction of the cost of Acetylene.
