Type 1 vs. Type 27 Cut-Off WheelsÂ
3Mâ„¢ High Performance Cut-Off Wheels are available in a few variations, including Type 1 wheels and Type 27 wheels. Type 1 wheels are straight wheels, whereas Type 27 wheels have a depressed center. When used with abrasive tools and grinding guards, the Type 1 grinding guard has a closed face and the Type 27 grinding guard has an open face.
