In many workplaces, pollutants like smoke, dust, soot, and even viruses can enter the lungs and cause serious respiratory issues such as asthma, bronchitis, or lung disease. At its core is a ventilated half mask that completely covers your mouth and nose, creating a gentle overpressure that supports natural breathing and removes resistance.
Made from high-tech, adjustable fabric, the mask fits comfortably without the need for time-consuming fit tests. Clean air is supplied through a lightweight Y-tube from a compact blower unit worn on the back, ensuring constant protection through a continuous 'overpressure air system'.

TH3 / TM3 Respiratory Protection
TH3 and TM3 are protection levels for respiratory protection equipment (RPE) classified according to European standards. Both refer to powered air purifying respirators (PAPR) like our swiss air. They are based on sufficient airflow and overpressure to prevent the ingress of contaminants. However, they apply to different types of face masks or head coverings.

In workplaces where fine dust, gases, vapors, or smoke are common, proper respiratory protection is essential. The optrel swiss air system comes in two application-specific versions, each designed for different needs.
Main filter options:
Particle Filter:
Filters fine dust, smoke, vapors, and viruses — ideal for welding, grinding, cutting, or drilling. It’s lightweight for greater comfort and easy to install or replace.Combination Filter (ABE1P):
Offers additional protection against gases, aerosols, and viruses — perfect for tasks involving chemicals or solvents. It provides comprehensive protection when multiple hazards are present.
Because the main filters differ in size, the supplementary filters vary too, so this should be considered when ordering replacements.
Since the particle filter doesn’t neutralize gases, odors may still be noticeable. In such cases, the mountain breeze odor filter can be used instead of the pre-filter to eliminate unpleasant smells while maintaining the same level of protection.

With the ABE1P Combination Filter, your swiss air powered air-purifying respirator now protects you against chemicals and particles in one. The combination filter protects you from:

The mountain breeze filter is an odor filter and can be used instead of the pre-filter. Are you welding oily, painted, corrosion-protected, or other surfaces that produce unpleasant odors? With the new mountain breeze odor filter, you won’t notice them anymore!
Pre-Filter
The pre-filter handles the coarsest work in the filtering system and needs to be replaced most frequently. It protects the filters behind it. Regular replacement of the pre-filter also extends the lifespan of the main particle filter.

Both masks are compatible with the swiss air system and provide high respiratory protection. The choice depends on individual preferences and specific needs.
Cloth Mask “Loose Fit” – Light and Flexible
The black cloth mask is foldable, ultra-lightweight, and designed for a sleek, comfortable fit that moves with your breathing. The replaceable nose foam improves hygiene and extends usability, making it ideal for those who need all-day comfort and freedom of movement.
Offering TH3 protection, the mask filters out up to 99.8% of particles, vapors, and gases, making it suitable for medium to high-contaminant environments or extended use.
No fit test is needed for TH3 protection, so it’s ready to use right away. With adjustable sizing, it fits comfortably on different face shapes, including narrower faces often found among women.
Silicone Mask "tight fit" – robust and size-compliant
The close-fitting silicone mask features a built-in viewing window for clear visibility and communication. Available in three sizes (S, M, L), it provides a secure fit for different face shapes. Its light color supports hygienic use, and the rigid body stays stable while breathing, ideal for users who prefer a firm, clear design.
With a proper seal fit test, smooth skin (no facial hair), and full ventilation mode, the mask achieves TM3 protection, filtering up to 99.95% of airborne particles and gases. If these conditions aren’t met, it still offers TH3 protection. This makes it suitable for extended use in environments with high levels of hazardous particles or toxic gases, especially where fresh air is limited.
